From the prehistoric caves of Dragon Bone Hill to the People's Republic of China, Beijing has witnessed as many as 250,000 years of fascinating history. Almost every street boasts an ancient architectural treasure. Beijing is China's second largest city after Shanghai in terms of urban population and presents exciting opportunities for visitors and students to learn Chinese and immerse in China's cultural capital. GAC offers a diversity of programs ranging from study, internship to volunteer programs to suit the needs of a desiring participant.  Our programs in Beijing are offered at some of the most renowned universities like Beijing Language and Culture University - BLCU, Peking University and Tshinghua University. 

Studying in Beijing and learning to write Chinese in a thriving cultural mecca is a great experience. We offer university program and high school programs as well as one-on-one tutoring opportunities. During the course of your volunteer adventure, we place you in a rural area of China to help children with special needs and disabilities as well as orphans and immigrants. You can learn to speak Chinese through the program's language courses while also enjoying guided tours and other cultural activities. Our volunteer opportunities run anywhere from one week to a full year.
