Go Abroad China - High School Program in China - Overview


Go Abroad China offers various programs for high school students within the age group of 13 to 18 years. Our staff comprising of professional and experienced teachers, mentors and coordinators ensure you get the best from the intensive language training with a swift immersion into the Chinese language, culture and society. The staff also ensures all this is done in a safe and friendly environment.


You will be living with a Chinese host family along with a family member of your age group in vibrant metropolises of Beijing and Shanghai. You also will attend well reputed local campuses.


Excursions to historic and cultural landmarks, participation in community building projects also form part of the curriculum. Students are encouraged to interact in Chinese to improve their language comprehension and pronunciation. By the end of the program the students will have a good command over the Chinese Culture and a good skill in Basic Chinese language.

High School Program in China – Features

High School Program in China - Components

  • Intensive courses for Chinese language and Cultural immersion.
  • Group seminars for orientation in English by Go Abroad China staff and experienced teaching staff.
  • Organized visits to selected schools, universities, business enterprises, countryside villages and various other venues of interest.
  • Interactive workshops on culture held in English to acquaint participants with Chinese culture, art and music. For example, traditional cuisine, music, (Beijing) Opera, Calligraphy, Tai Chi, Wushu, Mahjong and various other Chinese arts and crafts.
  • Activities like group discussions and seminars with Chinese students in the same age group and interests to create a congenial and friendly atmosphere for GAC participants.
  • Guided study tours to China's historic attractions including assistance by qualified English speaking tour guides, sightseeing for historical Chinese monuments and places of interest such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, etc.
  • Volunteer opportunities in hospices, orphanages and schools.
  • An array of accommodation options are available. From homestay with a Chinese family to a shared apartment with Chinese roommate, you have the liberty to choose what you prefer. Living with a local host family enables students to get first-hand experience of the Chinese culture and lifestyle.
  • Transfer service to and from the airport is included.
  • As you study and travel in China, GAC’s staff provides 24 hour onsite assistance concerning travel arrangements, educational needs, accommodation, meals and logistics.

Because of the very special attention they require and the close  supervision we provide to our under-aged participants, the costs of High-School programs are 10% higher than the corresponding programs for applicants over 18.
